Your Washington questions, answered.

Do you deliver to my part of Washington?

We serve all of Washington. Enter your ZIP at the top of this page to see your prices.

Do I need a building permit?

Usually. Washington’s building code applies statewide, and your city or county issues permits. Small one-story accessory buildings of 200 square feet or less are generally exempt from a building permit but still need to meet zoning. Most carports and garages are larger.

What snow load does my building need?

Ask your city or county. Washington does not set one statewide number; local building departments set it, often using the state structural engineers’ snow load guide. Loads vary widely between the coast, the Cascades and eastern Washington.

Is there a wetland, stream or steep slope near my building spot?

If so, check the critical areas rules first. Cities and counties limit building near wetlands, streams, shorelines and steep or unstable slopes. Ask the planning department before you clear or level the site.

Does earthquake design matter for a carport?

West of the Cascades, ask your building official. Western Washington has high earthquake design requirements. Whether they affect your building depends on its size and use.

How do delivery and installation work?

We review your building, location and site details before confirming timing. You prepare a level site and arrange required local approvals. Soft ground after rain, gravel roads, steep drives and trees can make delivery harder. Mountain passes can close or need chains in winter. A quote request does not reserve an installation date.

Do I need to call 811 before installation?

Yes. Contact Washington 811 at least two business days before work starts. Tell them where the building will sit and that ground anchors will be installed. Tickets are good for 45 days.

Lines you own, such as power to a shop, are not marked through 811.
