Your Oregon questions, answered.

Do you deliver anywhere in Oregon?

Yes. Our coverage includes the whole state.

Do I need a building permit?

Usually. Oregon’s building codes apply statewide, and your city or county issues permits. Small one-story accessory buildings of 200 square feet or less and no more than 15 feet tall are exempt from a building permit but still need to meet zoning. Most carports and garages are larger.

Is a farm building exempt?

It can be. Oregon law exempts qualifying agricultural buildings on a farm or forest operation from structural building permits. You file an exemption request, and the county planning office must confirm the property and use first. Electrical and plumbing permits are still needed. A garage for the house does not qualify.

What snow load does my building need?

Ask your building department for the ground snow load at your exact site. Oregon moved to a new national snow load method with its 2025 structural code, and loads vary a lot with elevation in the Cascades, the Blue Mountains and central Oregon.

Does wet ground affect installation?

West of the Cascades, yes. Long rainy seasons leave many sites soft from fall into spring. A firm, well-drained pad and a dry path for the truck matter.

How do delivery and installation work?

We review your building, location and site details before confirming timing. You prepare a level site and arrange required local approvals. Gravel roads, steep drives, gates and trees can make delivery harder. Mountain passes can close or require chains in winter. A quote request does not reserve an installation date.

Do I need to call 811 before installation?

Yes. Contact Oregon 811 at least two full business days before work starts. Tell them where the building will sit and that ground anchors will be installed. Tickets are good for 45 days.

Lines you own, such as power to a barn, are not marked through 811.

Do wildfire or coastal rules apply?

They can. Some Oregon counties have wildfire building and defensible-space rules, and coastal sites have higher wind requirements. Ask your building department what applies at your address.
