Your Oklahoma questions, answered.

Do you deliver anywhere in Oklahoma?

Yes. Our coverage includes the whole state.

Do I need a permit?

Inside city limits, check with the city; most issue permits. Oklahoma sets minimum building codes for the whole state, but the state does not issue permits. Many counties have no building department for unincorporated areas, so rural property often needs no building permit. Floodplain and septic rules can still apply.

How much wind should my building handle?

If your city or county has a building office, ask for the design wind speed at your address. Tell us how open the site is. A building on open prairie sees more wind than one sheltered by trees or other buildings. Ask about stronger anchoring if your site is exposed.

Is a carport or metal building safe to shelter in during a tornado?

No. A carport or steel storage building is not a storm shelter. Anchors help keep it in place in strong wind, but no ordinary building is designed for a tornado. Shelter in your home, a safe room or a storm cellar.

What about red clay and hard ground?

Oklahoma’s red clay swells when wet and shrinks and cracks in drought, which matters for slabs. Dry, hard ground or rock can make anchors hard to drive. We review the installation surface before confirming the anchoring.

How do delivery and installation work?

We review your building, location and site details before confirming timing. You prepare a level site and arrange required local approvals. Dirt roads that turn to mud, gates, cattle guards and how far the spot is from the road can make delivery harder. A quote request does not reserve an installation date.

Do I need to call 811 before installation?

Yes. Contact OKIE811 at least 48 hours before work starts, not counting the day you call, weekends or holidays. Don’t call more than 14 days ahead. Tell them where the building will sit and that ground anchors will be installed.

Lines you own, including oil and gas lease lines that are not registered with 811, may not be marked. Ask the operator or a private locator.

When is the best time to schedule installation?

Spring brings the most severe storms, and heavy rain can make rural sites too soft for a truck. Fall and early winter are often easier. If you have a deadline, tell us with your request.
