Your Idaho questions, answered.
Do you deliver to my part of Idaho?
We serve all of Idaho. Enter your ZIP at the top of this page to see your prices.
Do I need a permit?
It depends on the city or county. Idaho cities and counties choose whether to run a building code program. Many do, especially around Boise, Coeur d’Alene and Idaho Falls; some rural counties do not. Zoning and setback rules can apply either way. Ask before you prepare the site.
Is a farm building exempt?
Yes, from the building codes. Idaho law requires local governments to exempt agricultural buildings. A county may still issue a low-cost permit to check road setbacks and utility easements. A garage for the house is not a farm building.
What snow load does my building need?
Ask your building department. If your area has none, the University of Idaho’s snow load map gives a starting value by address; loads rise quickly with elevation.
How do delivery and installation work?
We review your building, location and site details before confirming timing. You prepare a level site and arrange required local approvals. Gravel roads, steep drives, snow and seasonal road limits can make delivery harder. Frozen ground can delay anchor installation. A quote request does not reserve an installation date.
Do I need to call 811 before installation?
Yes. Contact 811 at least two business days before work starts. Bonner, Boundary and Kootenai counties use Dig Safe North Idaho 811; Benewah and Shoshone use North Idaho 811; the rest of the state uses Digline. Tell them where the building will sit and that ground anchors will be installed.
Lines you own, such as power to a barn or irrigation lines, are not marked through 811.
