Your Georgia questions, answered.

Do you serve my part of Georgia?

Yes. We serve all areas of Georgia, including rural properties outside the cities shown on the map.

What permits or approvals will I need?

Start with the city or county responsible for your property. Georgia has state construction codes, and local requirements can also apply. Ask about your building’s use, placement, setbacks and the plans needed before preparing the site.

What if my property is in Atlanta?

Check the property’s zoning and permitting requirements with Atlanta’s Department of City Planning. The city provides an address-based zoning map and application checklists. Confirm what applies to your lot before deciding where the building will sit.

Do mountain or coastal locations need different planning?

They can. North Georgia’s mountain climate differs from the rest of the region, and tropical storms can bring wind and heavy rain inland as well as near the coast. Your building office can tell you the wind and snow requirements at your address.

What should I know about red clay and rock?

Georgia’s red clay gets slick and soft after rain and hard in dry weather, and parts of north Georgia have shallow rock that can stop standard ground anchors. We review the installation surface before confirming the anchoring.

How do delivery and installation work?

We review your building, location and site details before confirming timing. You prepare the site and arrange required local approvals. A quote request does not reserve an installation date.

Do I need to call 811 before installation?

Yes. Call Georgia 811 at least three business days before installation to request markings for underground utility lines. Tell them where the building will go and that ground anchors will be installed. Check the utility responses before work starts.

If your site contractor has already contacted 811, let us know. We can help coordinate with your installer to check that the request also covers the anchors. Lines you own, such as power to a shed, may need a private locator.

What should I have ready for a quote?

Your delivery ZIP, building width and length, and the height you need. Tell us what will go inside and which doors or openings you want. Photos of the site and driveway can help explain access.

Can I use an existing concrete slab?

It depends on the slab. We check that it suits the building layout and anchoring before you order. Do not assume the roof dimensions are the required pad dimensions.

How much clearance do I need for an RV?

Measure the RV at its highest point, including rooftop equipment. Tell us that measurement and how you plan to drive in. Leg height, roof clearance and door opening height are different measurements.

Where can I check flood conditions for my property?

Start with the Georgia Flood MAP program. Review mapped flood hazards, then ask your local floodplain office about the proposed building location. Tell us about standing water or drainage problems you have seen on the site.

Is a carport or metal building safe to shelter in during a tornado?

No. A carport or steel storage building is not a storm shelter. Anchors help keep it in place in strong wind, but do not stay in it during a tornado warning.
