Your Connecticut questions, answered.

Do you deliver anywhere in Connecticut?

Yes. Our coverage includes the whole state.

Do I need a permit?

Usually. The Connecticut State Building Code applies in every town, and the town building official issues permits. Also check with the town’s zoning office for setbacks and size limits, and with the inland wetlands agency if there are wetlands or a stream near the building spot.

My yard has ledge and rocks. Can you still anchor the building?

Ledge and buried boulders are common in Connecticut and can stop standard ground anchors. A concrete pad or a different anchor type may be needed. We review the surface before confirming the anchoring.

My property is on the shoreline. What else applies?

Check flood and coastal rules. Much of the shoreline is in mapped flood zones, and towns review development in the coastal area. Ask the town zoning office and floodplain manager about the building location before you order. Ask the building official for the design wind speed as well.

What snow load should I plan for?

Ask your town building official. The Litchfield Hills and northeast corner get more snow than the shoreline.

How do delivery and installation work?

We review your building, location and site details before confirming timing. You prepare a level site and arrange required local approvals. Stone walls, narrow or steep drives, tight backyard access, gates and low wires can make delivery harder. A quote request does not reserve an installation date.

Do I need to call 811 before installation?

Yes. Contact Call Before You Dig at least two working days, and no more than 30 days, before work starts. Tell them where the building will sit and that ground anchors will be installed.

Lines you own, such as power to a garage, are not marked through 811.
