Your Arkansas questions, answered.

Do you deliver anywhere in Arkansas?

Yes. Our coverage includes the whole state.

Do I need a building permit?

Inside city limits, check with the city; many issue permits. In unincorporated areas, most Arkansas counties do not issue building permits. The state code still applies to the building, and floodplain, driveway and septic rules can still require a county permit or approval.

Call the county judge’s office or planning office if you are outside city limits. If you live in a subdivision, read the covenants too.

Is a carport or metal building safe to shelter in during a tornado?

No. A carport or steel storage building is not a storm shelter. Anchoring helps keep it in place in strong wind, but do not stay in it during a tornado warning.

My land is rocky. Can you still anchor the building?

Shallow rock is common in the Ozarks and the Ouachitas and can stop standard ground anchors. We review the installation surface before confirming the anchoring. A concrete pad or a different anchor type may be needed.

Does the New Madrid fault zone matter for a carport?

Northeast Arkansas has a higher earthquake design requirement than most of the state. Ask your building office whether seismic requirements apply to your building type and location.

How do delivery and installation work?

We review your building, location and site details before confirming timing. You prepare a level site and arrange required local approvals. Steep grades, gravel or dirt roads, low-water crossings, gates and tree limbs can make delivery harder. A quote request does not reserve an installation date.

Do I need to call 811 before installation?

Yes. Contact Arkansas 811 at least two working days before work starts. Tell them where the building will sit and that ground anchors will be installed. Work needs to start within 10 working days of the ticket.

Lines you own, such as power to a barn, are not marked through 811.

Where can I check flood risk?

Look up the address on the FEMA flood map, then ask the county floodplain administrator about the building location. Tell us about any creek, low spot or standing water near the site.
